Career & Work Information in Japan
After completing the program, students can work in various automotive workshops, dealerships, and service centers across Japan, contributing to essential vehicle safety and gaining international work experience. Workers handle passenger cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles.
Visa Pathways:
Technical Intern Training Program (TITP – Automobile Maintenance)
- Training Duration:
- Year 1: Technical Intern Training (i)
- Year 2–3: Technical Intern Training (ii)
- Year 4–5: Technical Intern Training (iii) (available only if certain requirements are met)
- Family accompaniment: Not permitted
- Opportunity to transition to SSW Type 1 after successful completion
Specified Skilled Worker (SSW – Automobile Repair and Maintenance, Type 1)
- Maximum stay: Up to 5 years with possible extensions
- Requires renewal based on performance and compliance
- Family accompaniment: Not permitted (unless upgraded to SSW Type 2)
- Job changes within the same field are permitted

Training & Education at Meihoku Training
At Meihoku Training, students receive Japanese language education, industry-specific communication training, and practical skill preparation designed for automobile repair and maintenance environments.

- Focus on achieving at least JLPT N4–N3 level
- Preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and JFT-Basic A2
- Industry-specific vocabulary for part names, tools, and safety checks
2. Automobile Maintenance Skills Training
- Routine vehicle inspections and legal periodic maintenance
- Disassembly, repair, and reassembly of key components (engines, brakes, transmissions)
- Parts replacement and vehicle condition checks
- Practical training based on real job-site scenarios
- Understanding safety signs, workplace communication, and hazard reporting
3. Workplace Etiquette & Cultural Training
- Understanding Japanese work discipline, punctuality, and responsibility
- Accurate reporting of issues and following instructions to prevent accidents

2. What level of Japanese is required?
In caregiving jobs, daily communication with residents and staff is essential. Generally, a Japanese level equivalent to N4 or above is required.
3. I am not confident in my physical strength. Is that okay?

4. What is important in Japanese caregiving workplaces?

5. Is there any possibility that I will be paid extremely low salary?
Wages are paid in accordance with Japanese labor laws. The minimum wage is guaranteed, and overtime pay should be paid in full as required by law.
