JLPT N4 Japanese Language Course

This course helps learners move beyond beginner Japanese and start using the language more naturally in daily conversations and real-life situations.
Course Overview
Our JLPT N4 course focuses on strengthening the core language skills learned in N5 while introducing more complex grammar structures, vocabulary, and reading practice.
By the end of the course, students will be able to understand everyday conversations spoken at a natural speed, read short passages, and express basic ideas more confidently in Japanese while preparing for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N4 level.

Class Info (Schedule, Size and Dates)
Morning Sessions (A.M): 7:30-8:20, 8:30-9:20, 9:30-10:20, 10:30-11:20
Afternoon Sessions (P.M):1:00-1:50, 2:00-2:50, 3:00-3:50, 4:00-4:50
- Classes held five days per week (Monday to Friday)
- Eight class periods per day with 50 minutes each, separated by 10-minute breaks
- Lunch break: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Each class has a maximum of 12 students, where students are grouped by test-based understanding levels.

Study Materials
To help students strengthen their Japanese skills, we use a combination of structured textbooks and practice materials.
- “Minna no Nihongo” (Minna’s Japanese Language) textbook for grammar, conversation, vocabulary, and listening comprehension
- Official workbooks for structured exercises and practice
- Listening applications for shadowing and pronunciation practice
- Past exam questions to prepare for the JLPT N4 exam
These materials allow students to practice repeatedly until they fully understand the concepts.
Kanji and Vocabulary
Students learn approximately 209 kanji characters required for the JLPT N4 level.
Lessons focus on expanding vocabulary and grammar used in everyday communication, including:
- Daily life conversations
- Instructions and notices
- Basic workplace communication
- Common Japanese expressions used in society
Teaching Approach
Our teachers have long-term experience living and working in Japan, allowing them to teach Japanese in a practical and realistic way.
Classes focus on learning methods that help students remember and use the language naturally:
- Emphasis on conversation practice, listening exercises, and repetition-based learning
- Grammar explained using slides and reviewed multiple times
- Active recall exercises at the end of each class to strengthen memory
- Continuous revision to help students retain what they learn
Based on the Hermann Ebbinghaus forgetting curve theory, lessons from Minna no Nihongo are reviewed multiple times to ensure long-term retention.
Tests and Evaluation
Student progress is regularly assessed through:
- Vocabulary and kanji quizzes
- Grammar tests
- Reading and listening evaluations
Students who score below 80% receive additional support and revision sessions. Evaluation is based on attendance, participation, quizzes, and exam performance.
Final Exam and Certificate
At the end of the course, students take a final exam to confirm their understanding of the Japanese Language N4 level.
Students who successfully complete the course receive a certificate of completion, which can support further Japanese studies and career opportunities.
